Tamale Ecclesiastical Province Partnership In Action (TEPPIA) is the development arm of the Tamale Ecclesiastical Province Pastoral Conference (TEPPCON). The aim of TEPPIA is to facilitate the mobilization, effective, efficient and accountable use of financial, human and other resources for the development of the Province, working in a coordinated manner, in partnership with relevant institutions of the Church and in solidarity with other development organizations within and outside Ghana. 

TEPPIA is committed to the Church’s social teachings centered around a preferential option for the poor and the vulnerable, care for the natural environment and love for neighbor, and is determined to contribute to the sustainable development of the Tamale Ecclesiastical Province and Ghana at large.

JOB SUMMARY

TEPPIA is in search of a competent, proactive and development oriented person for the position of Programmes Officer to manage, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate its programmes in an effective and efficient manner. The person should be reliable, trustworthy, able to work with little supervision and beliefs in the Social Teachings of the Catholic Church.

 

ROLES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plan and execute programme activities in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
  2. Conduct programme reviews and prepare reports for management.
  3. Foster and manage strategic partnerships.
  4. Convene programme/project meetings and workshops.
  5. Develop project ideas and draft project proposals.
  6. Prepare, file, compile and disseminate information relating to programmes,in consultation with the Executive Director
  7. Promote Learning and Knowledge Sharing
  8. Represent the organization in industry conferences, meetings and workshops as may be authorized by the Executive Director
  9. Maintain frequent communication with programme partners and key stakeholders.
  10. Monitor programme progress, analyze and troubleshoot programme risks and challenges.
  11. Develop innovative strategies, best practices and new approaches to improve overall programme performance
  12. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for programmes.
  13. Prepare and submit regular programme reports to the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Hold a Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social, agricultural and environmental sciences or any other relevant areas of study
  2. Have a minimum of three (3) years working experience in the public, private or NGO sector with responsibilities relevant to the job.
  3. Proficient in the usage of computer and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and database packages.
  4. Writes well and comfortable with public speaking
  5. Be able to work with minimum supervision with varied competencies
  6. Able to work in multi-cultural contexts
  7. Must be willing to learn, take initiative and travel.
  8. Must be a team player and results oriented
  9. Ready to work flexibly and where necessary extra hours.
  10. Must have impeccable integrity.
